In summer / fall 07 a series of several electro and experimental music events took place in Zurich. Each event featuring
performers from the areas of computer based music, circuit bending, visual installations, DIY instruments etc.
Being a member of the DIY Kamikaze Orchestra, I participated in this special "concert" (yes, you may be familiar with
it, having seen another performance of us at the Dialog06 festival). All of the 7 members first solder their own music instruments from scratch before they can actually begin to play them.
This already can turn out to be a challenge. Once all instruments are operational, they are synchrinosed to a common clock
which is implemented by water drops falling on a contact microphone.
The rest is improvisation, jamming and fun which can be more or less musical. :)
